Jesse Anderson, Folk Banjo and Guitar
Jesse has lived in Flagstaff for most of his life and plays both banjo and guitar.
Even if you aren't familiar with his name,
if you have been around the Flagstaff music scene at all,
you have probably seen and heard him.
He has been one of the prime movers at FFOTM's annual Folk Festival,
and is an integral part of the Mars Hillbillies, both instrumental as well as singing lead.
Jesse has performed as part of "Letter From Home", a cablecast television program from Flagstaff,
Arizona, and has been called "The young man with the old soul, a banjo, and a nice fedora."
If you miss Jesse's excellent banjo playing here at FFP,

Avtar Khalsa, Guitarist/Singer/Song Writer
Avtar started out at the age of 14 in a rock and roll band. As he got
older, he switched to playing folk and country as a duo with a friend.
And in later years he played solo in nondescript little bars and cafes,
sometimes for pay, but mostly for tips, with an occasional drink or
sandwich thrown in.
As life went on, he lived in a yoga ashram, spent some time in the army,
got married, had kids, etc. During that time, he played small, intimate
gigs for friends --- often around a campfire in the desert, or in
somebody's living room, with an occasional benefit concert thrown in.
More recently, though, he's been inspired to write songs and perform
again in local venues. He's become a frequent performer in the Second Saturday Songwriters Walk, and has come to the FFP several times
for the open mic.

Elliot, to name just a few. We're sure that you will enjoy Avtar's easy singing and playing style at the Folk Project.

JC & Laney Folk Guitar Duo
JC Scott has written and published 5 CDs, and has played with musicians such as Arlo Guthrie,
Lindsey Buckingham, and Kenny Loggins.
Laney Greynolds was lead singer for "Saddletramp" from Scottsdale Arizona for twelve years.
Their combined voices form their own Folksy Americana.
Hard driving and bluesy songs come uniquely alive.
Their stories and lyrics can be simple and direct,
tongue in cheek, sometimes satirical, and sometimes deep.

|
JC & Laney is a one of a kind entertainment experience, some have described as a cross
between a rock and a rose.
They have performed at both the Tucson and Flagstaff Folk Festivals as well as a variety of venues
around the Phoenix area.

Terry Alan Folk Guitarist, Singer, Songwriter
Terry was the second person to show up at FFP's opening night in October 2007. After hearing his amazing guitar playing at the open mic,
we immediately signed him up as a featured performer and he has played FFP each year since.
Terry originally hails from Minnesota, and has been playing most of his life. His Repertoire includes
a wide variety of classic rock, blues and original music. He is an acoustic musician at heart, and has written
about two dozen songs, many of which are instrumental and contemplative. Terry currently plays venues around Flagstaff as a soloist as
well as in a band, teaches guitar and runs the Flagstaff School of Music.

in Flagstaff, where he has played a variety of venues in the northern Arizona area.

Joan Wyatt - with the Joan Wyatt Band
Joan moved to Flagstaff in 1981, but much of her time and attention was devoted to her family. She already had been in a mainstream country band in Oregon in the 70s. Some of her early influences were the music of Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt, along with Joan Baez and Bob Dylan.
In 2001 she entered the Flagstaff folk music scene, where she was introduced to bluegrass, and it hasn’t been the same since. Her strong, yet eloquent and distinctive voice, along with her accompaniment on guitar carries a room. She also performs with her own group, the “Joan Wyatt Band.” But, whether with the band, or solo, you can tell that her music is a joy to herself, and certainly to her audience.

being a regular performer at Flagstaff venues for about ten.

Besides Flagstaff, Larry has also played a variety of venues throughout Arizona, both solo and as a member of
local folk bands. Although his playing and and writing has been influenced by the likes of Hank Williams, John Prine, and Bob Dylan, just to name a few,
